The National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) is an independent institute in Indonesia focused on electrochemical energy storage science and technology. It supports battery research, training and education, and aims to build a battery manufacturing industry based on local resources to support national energy independence and electric vehicle battery development. It was legally established on 17 December 2020 and acts as a platform linking scientists, industry, government and other stakeholders.
