It constructs, equips, and operates marine research infrastructures including the VIMAS facility (autonomous underwater and surface vehicles), the Offshore Ocean Platform (for deep-sea access), and the EMSO ocean observation node. Plocan provides testing capabilities for experimental marine technologies, components, and devices at various scales in sustainable operating conditions. The facility includes a 400 m² onshore base with workshops, laboratories, a seawater tank, and control room. It supports marine science research, educational programs including underwater robotics training, and AI-based coastal management solutions.
