Founded in 1946, Sev is a co-op headquartered in Faroe Islands, Faroe Islands specializing in Hydro, Wind.

Sev was founded on 1 October 1946 as an inter-municipal power company owned by the municipalities of the Faroe Islands, representing all citizens. Operating on joint and general liability principles, Sev has sole responsibility for power quality and supply across the isolated island society. The company operates hydroelectric power plants (including facilities in Vestmanna, Strond, Botni, and Neshagi) and wind installations (including the Neshaga windmill established in 1993). Sev is organized with a Board of Directors elected every four years by municipalities, and daily management headed by a General Manager. The company reinvests most profits into developing production capacity and the power supply system. Sev's vision is to achieve 100% renewable electricity generation by 2030 and actively promotes sustainable energy solutions including electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
