STOR-HY is a renewable energy company specializing in Hydro, Energy Storage.
STOR-HY is a European Union-funded research and innovation project coordinated by Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Tecnología e Ciência (INESC TEC) and led by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). The project aims to reduce the capital and operational costs of innovative pumped storage projects by increasing the durability and recyclability of pumped storage plant components, while minimising costs and environmental impacts throughout the life cycle and increasing social acceptance. Key work packages include development of operational and simulation tools for control and maintenance; algorithmic foundations for operation and optimisation of next-generation pumped storage plants; demonstration of innovative equipment in real use cases; corrosion and biofouling coating development; sustainability assessment; and stakeholder engagement. The project involves a consortium of major industry partners including ANDRITZ, EDF, EDP, GE Vernova, and others, with an International Advisory Board providing strategic guidance.
