UPM Energy is the second largest electricity producer in Finland with total generation capacity of 1,900 MW. The company generates CO2-free and low-emission electricity through hydropower assets and shares in other electricity companies. UPM Energy's operations include physical electricity and financial portfolio management, energy derivatives trading, and services to industrial electricity consumers and producers. The company is actively developing new renewable energy projects including wind farms (UPM Wind East in Pyykkimäki) and solar power parks (Haukkasuo and Kiikunsuo projects, Utti site), with co-located battery storage systems.
