Stichting Care for Kosovo Kids
Ermelo, Netherlands
About
Founded in 2013, Care for Kosovo Kids is a non-governmental organisation based in Ermelo, Netherlands working on health, children & youth.
Care for Kosovo Kids (Stichting Care for Kosovo Kids) is a Dutch-Kosovar non-governmental foundation, established in 2013 and recognised as an Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI). It works to ensure that children with cancer in Kosovo receive adequate treatment in their own country rather than travelling abroad. The foundation purchases and funds chemotherapy, essential medicines, tube feeding and medical consumables for the paediatric oncology ward of the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo in Pristina, the only public hospital where children with cancer in Kosovo are treated. It also supports psychological care, dental care, and hygiene packages for patients, and runs an outreach partnership with the Princess Máxima Center in the Netherlands to train Kosovar paediatric oncology staff. Fundraising is carried out in the Netherlands, mainly through an annual charity dinner, with support from volunteers, corporate sponsors and individual donors. The foundation is governed by a board with Dutch and Kosovar members and is run by a small paid team in Kosovo.
