Coöperatie BWW

Founded in 2016, Coöperatie BWW is a community organisation based in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands working on environment & climate, education, community development.

Coöperatie BWW is a non-profit cooperative association based in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. It was founded in September 2016 to build and operate the Bossche Windmolen West, a cooperatively owned wind turbine at Windpark De Rietvelden on the Graaf van Solmsweg. Its members, who are residents, associations and small businesses in the municipality, co-own the turbine through Bossche Windmolen Delen (BWDs) and receive a membership discount on electricity supplied by Pure Energie, along with a share of the net proceeds as energy credits. The cooperation also directs part of its net proceeds to educational programmes and to new sustainable energy projects in the municipality, and contributes to a local environmental fund for the Windpark De Rietvelden area. Its stated aim is to help 's-Hertogenbosch become climate neutral by 2050. The cooperation is run by volunteers, has no profit motive, and its members' liability is limited.
