About

Founded in 1994, De Tussenvoorziening is a charity based in Utrecht, Netherlands working on housing & homelessness, mental health, refugees & migration +1 more.

De Tussenvoorziening is a Dutch charity (stichting) and ANBI-registered organisation that supports people in the Utrecht region who cannot cope on their own. It works with people who are homeless, in debt, socially excluded, or have complex psychiatric, addiction, behavioural or intellectual disability needs. Services include 24-hour shelter, supported and mixed housing, family support, financial help via Stadsgeldbeheer, and creative and training activities. Founded in 1994 and growing out of a mobile shelter bus that handed out blankets and food, it now operates across Utrecht, the Amersfoort, Zeist, Stichtse Vecht, Woerden and Lekstroom regions. It also runs Wlz-funded long-term care, a sex worker outreach and drop-in service, and shelter for undocumented migrants. Its work is funded largely by municipal and care-office contracts, supplemented by donations, legacies and corporate partnerships. It employs around 500 paid staff and works with many volunteers.
