Familie Brons Stichting
Winschoten, Netherlands
About
Familie Brons Stichting is a grant-making foundation based in Winschoten, Netherlands working on mental health, employment & skills, education.
The Familie Brons Stichting is a Dutch grant-making foundation that provides incidental financial support to people with psychiatric or psychological problems in Eastern Groningen and North and East Groningen. Support covers goods and activities that the person cannot afford and that aim at rehabilitation or resocialisation, outside the direct sphere of their care. Examples include sports clothing and bicycles, musical instruments, computers and laptops for digital participation, training and education costs, work-related items such as clothing for job applications, and help with setting up a new home. Applications must be submitted by professional care workers on behalf of clients, not by clients themselves, and must relate to residents within the foundation's catchment postcode areas. A board that meets regularly decides on applications, and board members receive no salary. The foundation was formed from the former Vereniging Tot Christelijke Liefdadigheid, which carried out charitable work for the psychiatric centre Groot Bronswijk in Wagenborgen from 1873 to 1995. The foundation is independent of Stichting Lentis, which supports and facilitates it. It is recognised by the Dutch tax authority as an ANBI (public benefit) institution.
