About
Freshriders is a charity based in Maasdijk, Netherlands working on health, medical research.
Freshriders is a Dutch foundation that organises the Freshride, an annual sponsored cycling event for the fresh produce (AGF) sector in the Netherlands. Participants ride to raise funds against cancer, with the main share going to the Erasmus MC Foundation for cancer research, notably research into treatment tailored to individual patients and skin cancer research via the Daniel den Hoed Fonds. A smaller share supports local charities such as Carma Centrum and Vitis Welzijn. The event is supported by businesses across the AGF chain, which sponsor and help organise the ride, and participants also take part through a vegetable box sales obligation and corporate sponsorship packages. The Freshride began as a spin-off of the Ride for the Roses and reached its fifteenth edition in 2025, when a record 108,000 was raised. Across the years, the event has raised over 400,000 euro in total.
