MDL Fonds

Founded in 1981, MDL Fonds is a foundation based in Amersfoort, Netherlands working on health, medical research, education.

MDL Fonds is an independent Dutch foundation with ANBI status, founded in 1981, that works to prevent, detect early, cure and relieve diseases of the stomach, intestines, liver, oesophagus, bile ducts and pancreas (MDL diseases). It finances scientific research, provides information for patients and the public, runs a patient helpline, and works on public toilet access through the WC Wijzer app and advocacy with municipalities. The foundation is based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, and relies entirely on donations, partnerships and lottery proceeds rather than government subsidies. It collaborates with patient associations, healthcare professionals, researchers and companies, and is a CBF-recognised charity.
