Metakids

Founded in 2005, Metakids is a charity based in Amsterdam, Netherlands working on medical research, health, children & youth.

Metakids is a Dutch fundraising foundation that raises money for scientific research into metabolic diseases, which are inherited conditions that are the most fatal diseases among children in the Netherlands. The foundation finances research into diagnostics, treatment and quality of life for young patients, with research proposals assessed by an independent Scientific Advisory Board. Its stated goal is that by 2035, 50% of patients with a metabolic disease can be treated. Metakids works through donations, legacies, corporate partnerships, lottery support, a network of regional ambassadors, events and awareness campaigns, and is based in Amsterdam. The organisation holds the CBF quality mark and ANBI status, which makes donations tax-deductible in the Netherlands. It is also part of the MetaPACT community, which brings together patient organisations, fundraisers and researchers.
