Museum Het Petershuis is a local history and archaeology museum in Gennep, the Netherlands, operated by the Professor Johan Peters Stichting. The museum is housed in one of the town's oldest buildings, which was bequeathed to the Gennep community by Dr. Johan Peters, and opened as a regional museum in December 1983. Its permanent collection covers archaeological finds, ceramics from prehistory to the present, scale models and historical materials about Gennep and the surrounding region, including the Genneper Huys fortress, the Duits Lijntje railway and the Molukse community's arrival in the 1950s. The museum organises around eight temporary exhibitions a year, most featuring contemporary artists or current themes. It offers guided tours for groups, educational programmes for schools, and the Archeo Route app. Admission is free, with voluntary donations welcomed. The museum is run entirely by volunteers, who staff reception, guided tours, the education team, the exhibition committees and collection management. The foundation holds ANBI status, so donations are tax-deductible in the Netherlands.
