Museum MORE

Founded in 2015, Museum MORE is a non-profit organisation based in Ruurlo, Netherlands working on arts & culture, heritage.

Museum MORE is a private, independently run museum dedicated to modern and contemporary realism, with a focus on figurative art from the 20th century to the present. It operates three locations: MORE Ruurlo, housed in Kasteel Ruurlo and presenting the life and work of painter Carel Willink; MORE Gorssel, in a former town hall designed by architect Hans van Heeswijk; and MORE Twickel, scheduled to open in September 2026 in the Rentmeesterij on Landgoed Twickel in Delden. The museum presents a permanent collection display and rotating temporary exhibitions, together with guided tours, workshops, lectures, educational programmes for schools and a family and children's offer. Its collection is held on long-term loan from Stichting Collectie Nederlands Realisme (SCNR), a foundation that supports the museum and holds Culturele ANBI status, so gifts to it are tax-deductible in the Netherlands. Support options include memberships, the MORE Young network, donation circles and the VriendenLoterij. The museum serves the general public, with a focus on the Achterhoek and Oost-Nederland and an international outlook.
