About
Founded in 2016, Stichting Arnhems Hart is a community organisation based in Arnhem, Netherlands working on community development, environment & climate.
Stichting Arnhems Hart is a volunteer-run residents' foundation for the city centre of Arnhem, the Netherlands. Founded as a residents' group in 2016 and established as a foundation in 2023, it works for residents of the city centre (postcode 6811, including the Boterdijk and ArtEZ area) and aims to make the centre clean, green, safe and liveable for people and animals. Its main activities include volunteer litter picking and clean-up walks, greening initiatives, and a monthly neighbourhood meeting where residents discuss local issues with the municipality, police, enforcement officers and other stakeholders. It also organises community events for young and old, such as walks, games afternoons and seasonal gatherings, and provides information on municipal schemes and allowances. The foundation maintains ongoing contact with the municipality of Arnhem and advocates on behalf of residents in consultations on public space, traffic, parking and redevelopment. It is funded by donations, municipal subsidies and fees for work carried out in the neighbourhood, and holds ANBI status, so gifts are tax-deductible. The foundation is run by a board of volunteers and works with residents, entrepreneurs and local organisations.
