About
Stichting Wijkpresentie Parkstad is a community organisation based in Heerlen, Netherlands working on community development, mental health, addiction +1 more.
Stichting Wijkpresentie Parkstad is a Dutch ANBI-recognised foundation that places outreach workers in socially and economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods, mainly in Heerlen-Noord, and in other Parkstad municipalities where requested. Its outreach workers and volunteers are present in neighbourhoods to talk with residents about everyday concerns, including life questions, neighbour conflicts, addiction, poverty, domestic violence, psychological problems, loneliness and child rearing. The foundation focuses on people who have problems and cannot or do not want to turn to regular care services. It works from universal values such as respect, equality and honesty, inspired by Christian cultural heritage, and is neutral in political matters. Support is provided through a drop-in point, Inlooppunt Op de Hoek, in Heerlen, and through home visits. The foundation is run by a board of five with one advisory member, and its board members receive no remuneration. It has operated for about 25 years.
