The UvA Fonds, legally Stichting Amsterdams Universiteitsfonds, is the independent support foundation of the University of Amsterdam. It manages endowments and donor-funded sub-funds and awards grants, scholarships and project subsidies for student projects, research, education, academic heritage and student life. Funding is available to UvA students, staff, researchers and PhD candidates, including refugee students. The foundation also manages Funds in Name for donors, supports endowed chairs, and runs initiatives such as the UvA Queer Fonds and the Startstipendium. It is based in Amsterdam and holds ANBI status and CBF Erkend Goed Doel recognition.
