Vrienden van Zwembad Zuid

Founded in 2011, Vrienden van Zwembad Zuid is a community organisation based in Schiedam, Netherlands working on sport for development, community development.

Stichting Vrienden van Zwembad Zuid is a volunteer-run foundation in Schiedam, founded in 2011 by four neighbourhood associations after the campaign to keep Zwembad Zuid open. It supports the swimming pool with volunteers, promotes swimming lessons and school swimming for children, and advocates for a multifunctional sports centre with a renewed swimming pool, linked to the redevelopment of the Wilhelminahaven and the nearby tidal park. Its work focuses on sport and exercise access for residents of the older neighbourhoods of Schiedam, including Zuid, West, Oost and Centrum.
