About
Founded in 2025, EARTHONE Project is a ngo headquartered in European Union specializing in Biomass, Other.
EARTHONE (Environmental Analysis and Resilience for Transformative Human-Optimised Natural Environments) is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe programme (grant agreement N 101181825). The consortium comprises research institutions, universities, technology companies, and land management organisations working across pilot sites in Croatia, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Spain. The project employs an interdisciplinary approach combining advanced data-driven technologies, satellite observations, climate simulations, and ground-based sensor networks to understand key drivers of greenhouse gas emissions from terrestrial ecosystems. Core objectives include: designing multi-tier methodologies to enhance resilience in vulnerable regions through integrated resource management; harmonizing climate, soil, and land data using AI-driven models; studying vegetation responses to climate change and extreme events; and promoting sustainable land use practices. Research focuses on diverse land use scenarios including karst grasslands, Mediterranean vegetation succession, wetland ecosystems, agroforestry systems, intensive agriculture, and forest management. The project delivers tailored solutions for land managers, policymakers, and communities to support the EU's 2030 climate goals and 2050 carbon neutrality targets while enhancing biodiversity, watershed protection, and socio-economic resilience in vulnerable areas.
