Founded in 2022, ETIP Hydropower is a ngo headquartered in Belgium specializing in Hydro, Energy Storage.

ETIP HYDROPOWER is a European technology and innovation platform dedicated to hydropower development in Europe. Operating from 2022-2025, it serves as a recognized interlocutor for the European Commission, Member States, and Associated Countries on hydropower sector-specific research and innovation needs. The platform works through established working groups gathering experts from different hydropower sectors and stakeholder groups to focus on R&I priorities and strategic actions. Key focus areas include flexibility and storage solutions for grid integration, biodiversity and nature-positive hydropower operations, climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainability assessment, and leveraging hydropower as a catalyst for Europe's energy transition. ETIP HYDROPOWER coordinates with national, regional, and EU-level platforms to ensure synergies and hosts webinars, conferences, and publishes white papers on topics ranging from fish mobility and environmental flows to digital innovation and plant modernization.
