About

Founded in 2023, HyInHeat is a government headquartered in European Union specializing in Hydrogen.

HyInHeat is a Horizon Europe research and innovation project (grant agreement No 101091456) running from January 2023 to December 2026 with a total budget of 24 million euros. The project brings together 30 partners including universities, research institutions, and industry partners from 12 European countries to integrate hydrogen as a fuel for high-temperature heating processes in energy-intensive industries. The initiative focuses on demonstrating efficient hydrogen combustion systems for aluminum and steel production, covering complete process chains through eight demonstrators at technical centers and industrial plants. Work packages address process analysis, equipment redesign, infrastructure development, instrumentation and process control, demonstration in aluminum and steel sectors, evaluation of solutions, and dissemination of results. The project aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, improve energy efficiency, and establish regulatory frameworks for hydrogen adoption in industrial heating applications.
