Founded in 1995, Tauberkraft is a private headquartered in Schäftersheim, Germany specializing in Hydro.

Tauberkraft Energie und Verkehr Verwaltungs GmbH was established in 1995 by ten environmentally-conscious founders from the southern Main-Tauber region. The company designed, calculated, and constructed a small hydropower facility at the existing Schäftersheim weir on the Tauber river. The plant became operational on October 22, 1999, feeding clean electricity into the local grid. The installation features an 8-tonne Kaplan turbine with 70 kW capacity manufactured by Mavel. The project was completed in just three months using innovative prefabricated construction methods. The facility demonstrates the viability of small-scale hydropower for local renewable energy generation and grid stabilization.
