The Bulgarian Family Planning and Sexual Health Association (BFPA) is a non-governmental, non-politically-affiliated organisation registered in public benefit, founded in 1992. Based in Sofia with branches across Bulgaria, it works to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights for everyone regardless of gender, ethnicity, creed or age. Its work covers access to health services, health and sexuality education, advocacy for underserved groups, HIV and STI prevention, and combating trafficking in human beings. It places particular focus on young people, Roma and other ethnic minorities, women in reproductive age, people with disabilities, and children in institutions. Activities include peer education, national media campaigns, trainings, research, screenings, and mobile SRHR services in rural areas. BFPA is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
