About
Founded in 2022, Hydreams is a ngo headquartered in EU specializing in Hydrogen.
Hydreams is an innovative European flagship project dedicated to accelerating the decarbonization of the steel industry through the integration of clean hydrogen technologies. The project aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 4.5 million tonnes per year by 2032 by introducing hydrogen-enriched combustion (HEC) and oxy-enriched combustion (OEC) for steel production processes including reheating, annealing, and heat treatment. The project is organized into six technical work packages plus communication and management components, spanning 54 months. Key objectives include demonstrating clean H2 combustion technology at Technology Readiness Level 7, developing new ISO and CEN standards, and scaling hydrogen combustion technology to over 500 production sites across 23 EU member states. The consortium comprises industry leaders (Swiss Steel Group, Messer, Halias, Genvia, Calderys) and research institutions (TU Graz, BFI).
