About

Founded in 2021, Lh2craft is a co-op headquartered in EU specializing in Hydrogen.

Lh2craft is a multidisciplinary European research project coordinated by HYDRUS Engineering S.A. aimed at creating innovative, eco-friendly technology for storing and transporting liquefied hydrogen on ships. The consortium includes 14 partners from 9 countries: 3 major classification societies, 4 technical universities, 4 industry partners, 1 research organization, and 2 network associations. The project addresses fundamental challenges of hydrogen as a marine fuel by developing a 180-meter modular liquid hydrogen cargo containment system (LHCCS) operating at 20K temperature. Key focus areas include advanced insulation materials, safety systems (Hydrogen Detection and Monitoring Safety System), regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and lifecycle cost analysis. The project integrates knowledge from maritime, aeronautics, and materials science sectors.
