About
Founded in 2023, MOF2H2EU is a government headquartered in EU specializing in Hydrogen.
MOF2H2EU is a collaborative Horizon Europe project with 8 partners across 4 countries, funded with 3 million euros by the European Commission (Grant Agreement 101084131). The project focuses on synthesizing, optimizing, and demonstrating noble metal-free, heterometallic MOFs for visible light-driven overall water splitting. Key objectives include: developing efficient MOF photocatalysts with enhanced sun-to-hydrogen efficiency (targeting 2-5% STH); understanding structure-performance correlations through advanced characterization; scaling up production via sustainable routes; and achieving long-term stability demonstrations. The project spans synthesis (WP2), catalytic assessment (WP3), refined MOF development (WP4), laboratory-scale prototype demonstration (WP5), and technology benchmarking (WP6). Partners include academic institutions and research centers such as NHRF (Greece), CNRS (France), ESPCI Paris, University of Caen Normandy, Universitat Politècnica de València, Université de Montpellier, Maastricht University, and Technion Israel Institute of Technology.
