Founded in 2014, Volterra is a cooperative headquartered in Sint-Laureins, Belgium with approximately 1-10 employees specializing in Solar, Wind, Energy Storage.

Volterra is a citizen energy cooperative (energiecoöperatie) based in the Meetjesland region of Belgium. Established in 2014, Volterra enables citizens and organizations to collectively own and operate renewable energy projects including wind turbines, solar panels and battery storage systems. The cooperative operates on principles of direct citizen participation where members are co-owners of energy projects, have decision-making rights in the cooperative, and share in revenues. Volterra produces renewable energy and partners with Ecopower, a citizen-owned energy supplier, to deliver affordable 100% renewable electricity to cooperative members. Beyond energy generation, Volterra provides energy monitoring and advisory services, organizes community education events, and invests profits into new renewable projects and social initiatives. The cooperative is registered as an 'erkende coöperatieve vennootschap sociale onderneming' (recognized cooperative social enterprise) and operates as an official energy community under Flemish regulations.
