About
Founded in 2016, Waterstofnet is a co-op headquartered in Turnhout, Belgium specializing in Hydrogen.
Waterstofnet is a Belgian-Dutch knowledge and collaboration platform dedicated to advancing the hydrogen economy as a key component of decarbonization. Established in 2016 as a cluster initiative and later as a cooperative association (vzw), Waterstofnet coordinates the Waterstof Industrie Cluster, which brings together over 150 companies, governments, and research institutions across the Benelux region. The platform operates across the complete hydrogen value chain, including green energy production, hydrogen production, transport and storage, hydrogen technology, and end-user applications. Waterstofnet develops and realizes hydrogen projects, provides advisory services to policymakers on hydrogen strategies, develops roadmaps and studies, offers training programs, and organizes hydrogen conferences. It coordinates the Belgian Hydrogen Council, which promotes Belgium's hydrogen industry internationally and advises on regional and federal hydrogen strategies. The organization also partners with the RH2INE initiative to create an emission-free transport corridor along the Rhine.
